“A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.” ~ Proverbs 12:10
A child of God, who has accepted Jesus as Lord and King, who is a reborn Christian is righteous and therefor regards the life of his animals. He’ll take good care of them. What struck me is that a “wicked” or unrighteous man, can’t be merciful! Even his most tender mercies towards the animals are cruel!
I admire Kim Wolhuter, an award winning wildlife filmmaker. I also believe he understands the principle of “subdue” and to have “dominion”. The cheetahs in the short video are wild. He spent a few months with them to get accepted by them. He also films hyenas and other wildlife.
Kim grew up in the wilds of Africa, the Kruger National Park, South Africa, where his father, Henry Wolhuter, was the Head Ranger. What a privilege!
This is what destruction looks like.
The work when evil destroy!
The plight of rhino poaching is enormous. I don’t know what must have happened to a human being to do this to an animal. This monstroseties towards Gods creation happens due to greed, corruption, a super materialistic world that place more value on “dead” objects than life. Mostly due to pride and a lack of humility. Gods creation has become a commodity in the worst sense and is for sale to the devil himself at any price. (Instead of seeing His works as a blessing in our life that brings us joy, His provision and sustainability to support and care for us. He created it and it was good.)
Dr Johan Marais helps to treat the ones he can. Many rhinos are pregnant when they are poached. Many have babies that are left behind and have to be hand reared. They are on the brink of extinction. Yet, “Over the last 50 million years, rhinos have braved ice ages, prehistoric hyenas and giant crocodiles – and they were once the largest animals on land”. They won’t survive the human greed.
This is our God, the living Gods’ creature. The one He created for His pleasure. He has preserved this species for millions of years in their various “skins”. Are we really, REALLY going to turn a blind eye?
Yet, all humans “want” is prosperity! The fat bank accounts. The jets. How can Christians turn a blind eye?
Creation groans due to its subjection. It’s waiting for us, the Sons of God to step in. It will eventually be delivered with us into the new creation, the new heaven and earth, but until that day comes, we have to bring our part to the table. We have to care. It’s our Christian “duty”. Because we love Him.
(Please watch the short video in the rightside bar by Derek Prince)
“For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. … Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now” ~ Romans 8:19, 21-22
An emotional Dr Johan said with a broken voice “I can’t do it anymore. I’m tired of this shit. I can’t stand there anymore next to a rhino when it is dying … and I can’t do anything!”
It’s a small number of people like Dr Johan Marais, who really care with all their heart. They hear “Creation Calls”. They hear the groans. Without them, there’s little hope. They work tireless to relieve pain and suffering and bring awareness. Let’s join in which ever way we can, to assist and make it possible for future generations to enjoy what God has gifted us.
“The glory of the LORD shall endure for ever: the LORD shall rejoice in his works.” ~Psalm 104:31
Have you ever considered how the Lord is rejoicing in His works? Do we know how it looks when He does? We have such an awesome God! He rejoice in all of His creation. It resembles His glory! The magnificent mountains, seas and creatures therein. The flowers, the animals after it rained. Have you ever noticed what the animals do after a hot day? I watched the antelope often, they start to get this “jolly” jump, as if they are celebrating. Especially with the first rain in summer. Often I sat and thought, God you are wonderful! Look how even the animals rejoice in your provision and mercy.
Have you ever considered that He wants you to rejoice in His works as well?
“The earth is the LORD’S, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein. For he hath founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.” Psalm 24:1-2
We sing about God’s glory, when we worship. The opening verse of “How great thou art” is an excellent example of our acknowledgement of the works of the Lord.
When I in awesome wonder
Consider all the worlds
Thy hands have made
I see the stars
I hear the rolling thunder
Thy power throughout
The universe displayed
My Savior, God, to Thee
How great thou art
Yet, sometimes I wonder if we sing it during a church session, only to remember it during our next visit to church. The inhabitants of the earth, the animals species, in which the Lord rejoice, are on the brink of extinction mainly due to human ignorance, spiritual blindness, destructive behaviour and greed. I truly don’t believe we can totally blame climate change. The most dangerous thing is mass consumerism. The more we use and “want”, the more resources is necessary, the more Gods’ creation is destroyed and ripped apart. The more extreme capitalism is taking hold, the more inhumane practices we indulge in.
Slavery has not yet end. How did we cope WITHOUT palmoil? Do we really, really, REALLY choose palm oil over our next breath? That’s what the rainforests are to the inhabitants of the earth! It provides our oxygen. They are also the lungs of the earth and help to control the climate and take pollution out of the air!
“What we do to the animals we do to ourselves” ~ Adrian Steirn, Wildlife photographer
“Many individuals and entities out there are doing what they can to raise awareness of the plight of the rhino. However, real success can only come if there is a change in our societies and if we change the way we think and value wildlife. Our wildlife forms part of some of our greatest sources of beauty on this planet, and therefore needs to be protected at all costs. Education is the force for social change” ~ Dr Johan Marais from Saving the Survivors
John C. Bergstrom wrote “The system of values and beliefs that influence how a person thinks and acts is known as that person’s ethical system or ethics. In what follows below in this section, three general principles of a Christian environmental ethic are discussed. These three principles are: (1*) God created and therefore values all of his works of creation (Principle of Creation Value); (2*) God created and sustains all elements and systems in his creation within particular orders to meet certain ongoing purposes (Principle of Sustained Order and Purpose); and (3*) Everything in the created world and universe is subject to corruption by sin and ultimate redemption through Jesus Christ (Principle of Universal Corruption and Redemption). The three general principles of a Christian environmental ethic are consistent with a careful study of God’s Word found in the Holy Bible as illuminated by a number of historical and recent authors.”
(1*) In Rev 4:11 we read “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created.”
It can’t get anymore clear than this!
(2*) In Job 38-39, the Lord started a conversation with Job and said to him “Gird up now thy loins like a man; for I will demand of thee, and answer thou me.” In Job 38:39-41 He asked Job “Wilt thou hunt the prey for the lion? or fill the appetite of the young lions, when they couch in theirdens, and abide in the covert to lie in wait? Who provideth for the raven his food? when his young ones cry unto God, they wander for lack of meat.” which shows us a glimpse of the relationship between the animal kindom and God. It also shows us His love and goodwill towards His creatures.
(3*)”For the earnest expectation of the creature waiteth for the manifestation of the sons of God. … Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now” ~ Romans 8:19, 21-22 (the video of Derek Prince in the sidebar is an excellent explanation.)
My fellow Christians, how is it possible that our Christian leaders focus mainly on what Christ means to humans but ignore His “pleasures” in creation? We are made little less than angels and yet, sometimes I think it might be a misnomer. If we as Christians, do not speak up for the Lords “works”, who is going to do it? If we don’t get involved and renew our minds about how we should treat His “works” in which He takes delight, who will? We believe we are going to heaven one day and yet, many of us ignore that in which He finds pleasure in! His creation. Are we still so blinded to the destructive forces of the enemy?
May be it is due to the heretical influence John C. Bergstrom mentions: “Plato’s philosophy influenced the Gnostic view of the physical world that arose within the first-century Christian church. Followers of Gnosticism taught that the spiritual world contains all that is good, and that everything in the physical or material world is bad. Thus, under Gnosticism, nature would have a negative value and is something that should be disregarded in a person’s life.
Christians in the modern church who say that “the environment really doesn’t matter because it’s part of the physical world” are carrying on the heritage of Plato and the Gnostics.”
It is also noteworthy that Christian leaders who claim to have “raising the dead power in them”, hardly speaks out! I’m a true believer in miracles and the power of God. I’ve been following Andrew Wommack and everything he teaches sits as truth in my heart. I have believed these principles since a child.
Why do they, Creflo Dollar, Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyer and others, not speak out more on using this power also for the good of the creation. To be merciful with the creation and creatures. I’m really confused!
Why don’t they speak out on the biblical views about conservation and caring for nature…. our stewardship? Why do they focus on humanity’s “prosperity” and health, whilst ALL humans and the creatures’ health are dependent on the health and sustainability of the creation. Do they know something I don’t know yet? or has the church really sold herself to the god Mammon to fly jets? Why is it still, even in the churches today, a “money issue”. (with all respect and no condemnation)
Would you believe it’s possible, that the same healing and restoration capabilities these ministers teach, can be used to heal animals and nature? Then look what Elisha did! When are we going to realize that we pray “your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven?” ~ Matt 6:10. Is it possible that we don’t understand Gods will? How do you think it “goes” in heaven? ‘Cause if you think it’s Gods will for His creation to be neglected and willy nilly be destroyed, then “as in heaven” doesn’t make sense.
Is it only a small minority that understands that everything we have belongs to Him. That He gifted us with what we have? That everything good comes from Him? He created and “saw it was good”.
If that is true, then what gives me, a human the “right” to destroy His goodness? Yes, he gave us free will, but He also said ” I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life” (Deut 30:19). Choose always life! Paul said we should do everything to the glory of God. (1 Cor 10:31)
Are we so disconnected and blinded by the enemy, the one that comes to steal and destroy. I’m sure he has set out to destroy all Gods’ work, not just human souls. We are in a spiritual battle!
Elisha Heals Jericho’s Waters
“And the men of the city said unto Elisha, Behold, I pray thee, the situation of this city is pleasant, as my lord seeth: but the water is naught, and the ground barren. And he said, Bring me a new cruse, and put salt therein. And they brought it to him. And he went forth unto the spring of the waters, and cast the salt in there, and said, Thus saith the LORD, I have healed these waters; there shall not be from thence any more death or barren land. So the waters were healed unto this day, according to the saying of Elisha which he spake.” ~ 2 Kings 2:19-22
I urge our Christian leaders to step up and into stewardship. I urge them to “preach” about our duty towards the creation God love and care for. The leaders of the Christian church are the influencers. Help us to make a difference.

Please Note: I’m not debating evolution or a 6 day creation. It’s one of those debates which bear no fruit and I’m not sure it adds to anybodies redemption in Christ. It’s a time wasting exercise. Personally I leave debates about time, to God and His eternal wisdom. One day we will fully understand. Let’s rather focus on the good gifts and our contribution whilst we are still here in the flesh.
