I call this “project Nineveh” …. ’cause I really didn’t want to add to the already shouting voices, or more info “out there”, yet another one with an opinion, yet another whatever … nor face more possible ridicule, or criticism and those “bad stuff”. Just like Jonah, I want to run the other way and “hide”….
Many of my beliefs, views and opinions, not all, are going to touch on controversial “stuff”. It is not my intention to “judge” people, never! I believe a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ is more important than “worldly” knowledge and debates.
I’ll share my thoughts and experiences on my spiritual journey, concepts that I battled to understand in the Christian faith until Oct. 2015, how my yearning and “hunger for truth, a prolonged period of the “dark night of the soul” brought me to a complete surrender in utter exhaustion to the Savior, Jesus Christ.
I have a passion and love for Gods’ creation. I came to realize how we bless God when we care for it. How we can live on earth and still be “little lower than the angels” , with a joyful heart, in and with His biggest gift He gave us ~ His creation. A topic, I found not many address directly within the Christian faith.
Personally I believe the word “dominion” is misunderstood. Secondly “dominion” was given to Adam and Eve before their pride got them severed from the relationship they had with God. With that in mind, isn’t it then possible that we misunderstand its true meaning?
Sin actually means “missing the mark” and repent means to turn from your “wrong” thinking and doing, and get “on course” again.
A few years ago, I’ve come to a point where I “wanted to know the truth and nothing BUT the truth”. I challenged many doctrines and religious “stuff” in Christianity itself. Not just from an intellectual (carnal) point of view, but also from a spiritual point of view.
I belief the message of Jesus, the true meaning of His death and resurrection has been “hijacked” from the beginning by people who were “power hungry” to control the population. They wanted to follow their own agendas. (I’m not referring to the obvious people who didn’t believe in Him).
I’m by no means a trained minister, know-it-all, guru or anything like that – nor do I want to be. I’m just sharing my own insights and maybe it’ll answer some questions you also have about the Christian “religion”, with many apparent contradictions.
Unless “something” happens to you, something so profound that you know it cannot be from your own efforts or intellectual reasoning. Something different than any other experience. Maybe its also called a “mystical experience” … but the day your spirit are reborn by God, very little in the bible is going to make complete sense. The “bigger picture” will always be eluding. To be reborn is a profound eye opening experience. Truth is, you don’t know you go through it, until it’s done! It’s more than confessing with your mouth and belief with your heart, although that is the first and vital step.
I have to add, even the truth about a lie, is still the truth, more so if you are “trapped” in a lie for a period of time.
I’m a reborn Christian. I declare and believe in my heart that Jesus is my King and Saviour. I believe He is our intercessor with God, our High Priest. (“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” ~ John 14:6) I believe in the Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit and best of all I believe in the new earth, a new heaven and a new creation.
I believe in the gospel of Grace.
“Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.” (1 Cor 1:3)
I do this because I believe it is Christs’ special mission for me. I do this because God planted a love and respect for His works so deep in my heart … maybe to help just ONE person really understand the meaning of Christ, the real meaning of nature …. and the real meaning of “dominion”, to help them to experience faith and Gods’ world around them through the eyes of a five year old ….. and to believe the bible more than “doctrines” and long “explanations” … (so I’ll try to keep mine short)
“Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.”
P.S. Sometimes I write in English, sometimes in Afrikaans and sometimes “slang”….. forgive me.
